Solar Event Preparedness

This is the first real write up I've found that deals with solar events with any detail.
It's a PDF, something like 36 pages long. A bunch of the info is plain prep- good for noob's.

I don't know about you, but I'm not all that wrapped up over 2012 or solar issues in particular. It just seems reasonable to get input from all angles and integrate it into whatever plan you might already have.

Looking back over the last 25 years, there always seems to be some sort of natural doomsday event like this just around the corner. It is almost comical honestly.

That point aside, I agree it is worthy to diversify your preparedness efforts for multiple situations. It would be silly to only be prepared for one thing when it is something else that happens. Not unlike wearing your seat belt on only Fridays since that is the day you will most likely be in a crash.

Solar events WILL happen, just a matter of time. The Grid WILL go down. Maybe 100 years from now, maybe tommorrow.

Ahh yes, a 'new' end of the world.
This is good for me, as I completely missed the last end of the world.

A really big flare or CME is much more probable than an meteorite impact, eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano, or a tsunami from the Canary Islands.
